Roy Nachum Art through Design.
Roy Nachum’s spectacular design is a unique method, understanding space and creating functional art, with close attention to detail. He uses an unusual mix between raw material and provocative high end. Nachum has an undeniable ability to create drama and intensity within each space he designs. Nachum is an artist above all and each individual design project is a work of art.
Roy Nachum born November 11,1979 and raised in Jerusalem Israel. For the last 5 years he is living and working independently as a designer and painter in New York. Nachum was educated in art and design at the prestigious Academy’s of Bezalel in Israel and Cooper Union in New York.
His extra avant-garde interior design projects are conceptual, vivid, cultural and unique. Each space in which he creates is a contrast of mystery and elegance for him the space is a story full of surprises and conflicts, it is to build an enormous sculpture in which people experience from inside. When beginning a project the first step is comprehensive research inspiring the artist to re-invent design, everything he creates must have a meaning. When designing a restaurant he is inspired by the very first place humankind dined, the cave. His inspiration travels through the evolution and history taking it one step beyond, developing modern innovations of design and creating art it-self. To complete the story he often collaborate his paintings.
Nachum has designed nightclubs and restaurants throughout New York and around the world. In New York City he designed the ultra exclusive nightclubs Door and 1oak. Busy restaurants: Five Napkin Burger, Rino Ceronte, Super Hot Dog, Saucy and Justin Timberlake’s Southern Hospitality. He created the art for Tao Las Vegas.
Nachum is currently working on several other hotels, venues and projects in Amsterdam, Berlin and New York. The private office of a very well known celebrity, an 18,000 sq ft., restaurant in Chicago, Justin Timberlake’s new restaurant and lounge in New York and a 15,000 sq ft., night club in Los Angeles.
In the process he is developing an innovative contemporary furniture line inspired by his art and the reality. The line is smart, simple and detailed. Each piece is a conceptual work of art and extremely inventive to the world of modern design, chic, sophisticated, and functional.
